WHILE YOU PAY MORE AT THE PUMP: CHABOT & BIG OIL TAKE MORE OF YOUR MONEY
Washington changed Steve Chabot

(Cincinnati – OH-1) As Big Oil companies like Exxon-Mobil fill-up Chabot’s campaign coffers with cash, the people of the 1st congressional district pay for record high prices at the pump. To add insult to injury, Chabot voted to take billions of taxpayer dollars and give them to record-profit making Big Oil companies.

BIG OIL ANNOUNCES ANOTHER RECORD PROFIT QUARTER

The Associated Press reports that Big Oil companies, like Exxon-Mobil, will announce another quarter of record profits. (The Associated Press, 7/24/06)

CHABOT VOTED AGAIN TO GIVE BILLIONS IN CORPORATE WELFARE TO BIG OIL
During the quarter that Big Oil companies are reporting new record profits, Chabot voted to give Big Oil Companies billions in corporate welfare: In May of 2006, Chabot voted to take billions of dollars from American taxpayers and give those billions to Big Oil as corporate welfare. How did he do it? Chabot voted to give record-profit making oil companies a free ride to drill in waters owned by the American public. Fortunately, sixty-seven Republicans joined-up with Democrats to defeat Chabot’s plan. (HR 5386, Vote #167, 5/18/06; “Vote in House Seeks to Erase Oil Windfall,” The New York Times, 5/19/06)

In July of 2005, Chabot helped negotiate the Bush Energy Bill that The Cincinnati Post described as “a grievous disappointment” with “ill-advised tax breaks and subsidies.” In fact, Chabot voted to hand-over $14.5 Billion worth of corporate welfare to oil and gas companies. (“Negotiators Agree on Tax Breaks in Energy Bill,” The Washington Post, 7/27/05; HR 6, Vote #445, 7/28/05; “Try again,” The Cincinnati Post, 4/28/06; )

CHABOT RAKES IN CAMPAIGN CASH FROM BIG OIL
Exxon-Mobil, who broke U.S. corporate profit records last year, gave another thousand dollars to Steve Chabot’s campaign coffers according to Chabot’s latest Federal Election Campaign report. Exxon-Mobil has repeatedly given cash to help Chabot for this election. According to federal election reports, Steve Chabot has taken over $64,000 from Big Oil PACs since he was first elected. WASHINGTON CHANGED STEVE CHABOT

In Steve Chabot’s 1st congressional term, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Steve Chabot called tax breaks for big oil companies “corporate welfare that the government can’t afford.” In these record deficit times, why has Chabot changed? (“Chabot proud to be a ‘radical freshman’”, The Cincinnati Enquirer, 12/27/95)

Good, I can blame global warming on Chabot, too.

I am praying to God every night to give Chabot a break and let him have time to enjoy his family for a change and leave the politics to somebody else for a change.

For a change.
